Procedure after Blocking Foul and then Double Technical

Situation: Team A in Double Bonus. B1 is called for blocking foul. As I go to report, my partner calls double technical on A1 and B1. What should happen next?

You should finish reporting and then your partner should report.

Then the player that B1 fouled shoots 2FTs and the game continues as normal.

You use POI for the double T.

In this case, you would pretend that the double T didn't happen and resume the game with what you were about to do. Shoot 2 FTs.

Think of it this way. If the doube technical was not called. Play would resume as normal.

If A makes both free-throws it will be B ball with unrestricted throw in anywheres along the endline.

If there is a miss who ever rebounds maintain possession.

You would shot the free throws and continue on with the game. Report the Double Technicals. Remember on all Double Fouls, Double Technicals and Simultanious Fouls it is POI.

That's what I was afraid of. Happened last night (fortunately in a 20 point blow out game). We kicked it. We cleared the lane for the double bonus and then went to the possession arrow for POI. Thanks for the education guys!

For POI you need to ask yourself a series of questions.
First ask if any of the items listed in article 1 occurred. If so, you are going to resume by using the POI rule.
Now, for article 2, ask in order:
a. Was one team in control? If yes, apply 2a. If no, go to next question.
b. Was one team in the middle of a throw-in or FT or about to attempt one? If yes, then apply 2b and do that throw-in or FT again. If no, then go to the next question.
c. Do I really have to use the AP arrow? YES.


SECTION 36 POINT OF INTERRUPTION
ART. 1 . . . Method of resuming play due to an official's accidental whistle, an interrupted game, as in 5-4-3, a correctable error, as in 2-10-6, a double personal, double technical or simultaneous foul, as in 4-19-8 and 4-19-10.
ART. 2 …Play shall be resumed by one of the following:
a. A throw-in to the team that was in control at a spot nearest to where the ball was located when the stoppage occurred.
b. A free throw or a throw-in when the stoppage occurred during this activity or if a team is entitled to such.
c. An alternating-possession throw-in when the point of interruption is such that neither team is in control and no goal, infraction, nor end of quarter/extra period is involved.

Nevadaref makes a good suggestion. Whenever you have double fouls, report them, and then pretend they didn't happen. Just continue the game from whatever was going on when you called them. If they occurred during a throw-in, then you continue by administering the throw-in. If they occurred during or immediately prior to a free throw, then you continue by administering the free throw. If they occurred prior to the beginning of the game, then you continue by having the jump ball. If they occurred during a try (when there was no team control), then if it goes in you give the ball to the team who was just on defense anywhere along the endline. If the try misses, you have a dead ball with no team control, so go to the arrow.

Thanks Nevada! That clears it up for me. On another note, I noticed that you (and others) from time to time copy and paste rules from the rule book. Do you have it online or on your computer somehow?
