NCAA-M Question

Watching our local boys play right now (Eastern Illinois). Had a situation and it "seems" correct, but you know how that goes.

Couple questions regarding NCAA-M.

During all dead ball periods, do all T's go back to POI?

Also, say A has the ball in their front court with 10 seconds on the shot clock. Team B's coach gets whacked. 2 throws, ball opposite table for throw-in, and a fresh 35 for Team A?

Thanks.

Flagrant and Intentional Technical fouls go to the offended team for division line throw-in. All other technicals are POI.

As for your situation, should be a POI and shotclock reset.

Since you asked specifically about dead ball periods, I'll try to answer from that point of view. During a dead ball, any contact foul is penalized as a technical foul, either intentional or flagrant. In those cases, the POI is not used. The penalty is 2 free throws and possession of the ball at midcourt, as Snake-eyes said. However, you could obviously still have an unsporting technical foul during a dead ball period (like a coach arguing the foul call). In those cases, the offended team is awarded 2 free throws and the game is resumed at the POI.

Team A does get a fresh 35 because of the foul committed by the defensive team. (There would be no reset if the technical had been called on Coach A.) But the ball is not put in play at midcourt, it goes to the spot closest to where it was when the foul occurred.
