I am going to chime in here and it is going to be a long toss there is going to be a whole lot of communication here.

The mechanics I would use is to split the court in half. Trail is with the throw-in, the new lead will be in position near top of the paint/28 foot mark. I will tell the timer to start it on the Lead.... (The timer is going to be watching the ball not the trail to chop it in).

Trail has shot from backcourt, Lead has shot in the front court. Trail trying to get down the floor in 2 seconds for long pass to chop clock in, rule on shot etc is nuts.
