Your Shoes ??

I am just wondering what shoes everyone wears on the court to officiate. Personally, I bought 3 pair of the Converse All Star Whistle (patent leather) the last year they were made and am still in those. I have been looking at other options and wanted some ideas. Are there any other good option than the Reebok Ref or Spot Bilt patent leather shoes?? Thanks!

I have 2 different kinds of all black Addidas (1 mid top pair, 1 low pair) I found a couple of years ago. They are basketball shoes, similar to the Superstar model, but have some patent leather on them. They have been the most comfortable shoes I have found in my career. If anyone happens to know where these are still available, let me know. Mine are getting to be on their last legs. My partners wear the patent Reeboks and like them.

For my JuCo, BV, and high-octane GV games I wear New Balance 610's. I'm a big boy (6'5"/265lbs) and they provide me the cushion and bounce back I need plus they are confortable and keep a good shine (I don't wear patent leather sneaks)

For slower paced GV and my multiple game evenings (military intra-murals/rec leagues/AAU) I wear a pair of Reeboks I bought at JC Penneys a few years ago. They are comfortable on my feet for long periods.

When I played basketball I was a Nike man and I wear Shox for jogging but Nikes I found to hurt my feet when I officiate.

Well, the NBA officials agree with you, and who does more running than them.

The majority of NBA officials wear New Balance--almost twice as many as wear Nikes- with the others bringing up the distant rear.

I wear New Balance shoes. I have 609's, and for my reserve pair - I forget what they are: but they're New Balance too.

I have so many pairs of ref shoes (patent and otherwise) that my closet looks like I live with Imelda Marcos.

I'd be willing to bet tjones1 has more than you. And, to top it off, he brings half of them to games in his three suitcases.

Right, Tanner?

On a light day, I'm carrying three suitcases!

But on the shoes question...I wear The Ref Patent Leather.

I'm fond of Spot-Built myself and currently am wearing patent leather ones. Those of you who seem to have an aversion to them: care to explain?
