OT another officiating trivia brainteaser

Another OT Trivia Teaser, not about basketball, but about officiating:

Name the sport where a non-participant routinely throws a projectile at the referee during the contest. The projectile is not a ball or any other implement used by participants in the contest.

This is an Olympic Sport, although this quirk in the way the sport is played is not necessarily exhibited at the Olympic level.

I've seen it happen in basketball, football, baseball and soccer, but I doubt that fans throwing bottles (or batteries, at Yankee Stadium) onto the field is what you're going for.

Boxing. The cornerman throwing in the towel to signal that the referee should stop the fight.

I'd go with boxing too, but technically, the towel is not necessarily thrown at the official. It only needs to be tossed into the ring.

I think Slim just likes throwing things at officials!
