Question

In 1949 ______________ retired 55 batters
via strikeouts in a 21-inning affiar. His
team the Clearwater Bombers of Florida,
beat Phillips 66 of Oklahoma for the ASA
National pennant. To make the weekend
even more amazing, after completing those
21 innings and with only a 10-minute rest
break, _______then pitched a nightcap game
for 14 more strikeouts the same night.

Unhappy Sorry...

I guess sometimes I am too literal...

I enjoyed doing the internet search to find out the answer, though.

Sorry to spoil the fun for everyone else. Next time, I'll try to be more clever.

Thanks for the bit of softball history.

Dakota,
I appreciate the response; however...if you don't want to show the answer... delete it.

Talking Awwww . . . .

. . . and here I thought it was Herman Q. Clincher, inventor of the 16" ball.

(note for the literal-minded: this post is a JOKE.)
