Technical Question

If a direct technical counts toward the team bonus, if a coach is t'd up and its the 10th team foul. Do we shoot two for the "T", and then two for the bonus??

No. The rules for shooting the T supercede the rules for shooting the 10th team foul (or 11th or 12th). just two shots for the T, taken by any player, and the ball at the division line.

What she said.

Remember, the bonus FT's are for non-shooting personal fouls. Each foul carries it's own penalty, so the penalty for the T is two shots and the ball OOB at the division line. The next personal foul would result in 2 bonus FT's for the offended team.

I'm not being a smart a$$, but answer the following question.

If a shooting foul is the 10th personal, do you shoot two for the shot and two for the bonus? The answer is the same for both questions.

Right answer, wrong reason.

Bonus FTs are awarded for COMMON fouls. This wasn't a common foul, therefore no bonus FTs are merited.

It's not that the rule for the T supercedes, it's just that the bonus rule doesn't apply in this situation.
