New NCAA Test Format

Anybody take the practice test over at Eofficials yet? It's no longer "Is the official correct" with yes and no answers.

They give you a situation and provide 4 or 5 possible rulings and you have to pick the right one. Definitely makes it a harder exam if the real test uses the same format as the practice test.

I took the practice test. Got a 70. I have to do some more reading. The correctable error questions killed me.

That test was just one the picked a few questions from last year. I got a 90%, cause I always misread one!

This might be a stupid question, or maybe just a stupid person asking a question, but who asks you to take the NCAA test and when do you take it? I'm just getting my first JUCO games and I am asked to go to rules meetings, but the actual test has never been mentioned. Is this a league specific requirement or how does it work?

Just for Division One referees, although you can sign up for the site I believe and be a paying member. We have an affilliates program with them and the conferences or consortiums we work for.

Thanks. That's above my pay-grade at the moment, so to speak. Is the practice test available to us non-D1 officials?

The test is required for D1 refs, but not necessarily only for them. I'm a member of CBOA up here in the northeast, and we're all required to pass it in order to work D2/D3. Any association can require it, I think.
