Thumbs up

I just tried my new Spenco insoles (per Tony's suggestion) in my new shoes (New Balance 608 (wide)).
What a ride!
You gotta try it to believe it.

Tried both products because of this Forum.
Thanks.

I prefer the sorbothane ultras insoles (they are a bit more durable than the spencos), but the 608's are great.

SuperFeet

Another footbed worth looking at is call SuperFeet. I'm sure they sell them elswhere, but I get them through "Road Runner Sports" (www.roadrunnersports.com)They run about $30.00 a pair. I used them training for the Western States 100 the last 2 years. Averaging about 80 to 100 miles per week, including 30 mile Saturday & 20 mile Sunday runs, they hold up very well. I have found them very comfortable running up and down the court also. I can't make any other comparisons with Spenco or Sorbothane as SuperFeet were the ones recommended by some orthopedic specialist at a running camp I went to a few years back and they have worked well for me. Just another option.

Mick...
On the 608's... Were the original insoles easily removed? Ie. Did they just slipped in and out or were they glued in. I've found the easy slip feature in most of the better running shoes, but it's been a bit harder to find it in shoes used for officiating and aerobics.

Chuck,
My NB 608 insoles slipped out. I used those for my cut-n-fit pattern.

Devdog69,
Got mine at Lockeroom. $19.+ each, but caught a 1/2 off second purchase.

These addresses from Tony (BktBallRef)

http://www.spenco.com/home.html

This site has much better prices than the drugstores.

Spenco

For those of you that have used these, did you have to increase your shoe size? If so, how much bigger did you have to buy your shoes? TIA.

Do you have multiple pairs and rotate? How many days per week do you sweat on those things?

Actually I do have multiple pairs, but each of them are in a different pair of shoes. So they only rotate, in a sense, when I switch shoes. But this depends on the week's workout and where I'm running... E.g. speedwork on a track, lsd on a relatively flat course, or hills (most of our hills have a lot of rocks)... But it's not uncommon for me to run a full week (6 days) in the same pair of shoes using the same footbed. In most cases, I can get an extra 100 to 200 miles out of a pair of shoes using "Superfeet". But it's not because "Superfeet" make the actual shoe last longer, it's mainly that it takes longer before I can feel the rocks through the shoe's sole.
