Make the call: the ball is stripped & caught...
Today while playing pickup I was driving to the basket and just after I grabbed the ball up with both hands (I had possession) it got stripped from my hands, but as it was falling away from me I re-caught it, then began to dribble again.
The argument was that I cannot dribble after picking up my dribble unless I let the ball hit the ground. Then I argued that since I lost possession and then regained possession I get my dribble back. What is the official call? Thoughts? Thanks for the help! Dan
