In Seattle beating the Mariners!

And Chuck, Moyer is flat out fun to watch...84 mph fast ball and then throws about a 62 mph change-up and the guy swings when the ball's about half-way to the plate! It's a hoot watching him pitch!!

And an ex-Cub, too. Man, he's been around forever; I think he was on the same teams with Williams, Santo, Banks, and Jenkins. Or maybe not.

(grumpy old guy = on)
Anyway, what's the scoop with giving Milledge from the Mets such a hard time about his giving some fans high-fives after hitting his first home run? He's getting it from both the Giants players and his own manager for not following baseball's "unwritten rules". What I heard, after the inning was over, he high-fived some fans on his way out to the field. He didn't hold up the game, he didn't do it on camera, and he didn't make it all that obvious. But yet there's talk about him getting thrown at if he would continue to do it. Geeze, how is that worse than the players who stand at the plate and watch it go, or take 5 minutes to walk around the bases. That isn't showing up anyone? (grumpy old guy = off)

That's what a weekend in Cleveland will do for you.

Did you survive all that culture shock?

Life in dat der big city was just soooo different, eh Martha?

I will say one thing - Jacobs Field is one nice place to watch a game. We sat in the left field bleachers, but we were able to get around to the rest of the areas pretty easily. Everything was clean, well laid-out, plenty of good sight-lines from what we saw. Surprisingly, they were a long way from sold out, even for a Friday night game. Maybe Cleveland is more of a football town.

Or maybe they were just at the library.

I haven't heard this story yet. I wonder when the Giant pitchers are gonna start taking a hard line with this grand-standing, supersized-hot-dog egomaniac?

Mets rookie hits the first home run of his career, with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th, to tie the game and send the game further into extra innings. Here's one story:
http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/gamece...0060604_SF@NYM

Steve Kline (Giants pitcher) says, "I think he genuinely knows he did wrong." What?! How the he!! is that different than someone (like, say, the guy in the picture, or others for that matter) who do the pose and the trot even if the home run doesn't mean anything in the game?

I'm gettin' grumpy again...

So I was watching this baseball game tonight...home team kid on first steals second & ends up scoring on the play. Somehow defense is beyond what these kids are able to do. Next inning the visitors go up 2-1, but now I have to walk the dog. So I do, just a short walk, once around the block, when I get back the home team is leading 8-2! And it's *only* the bottom of the 2nd!!

Man I LOVE these little league games!

Moose vs. Beckett; sounds like a picher's duel to me. What do I know? I'm watching one of the little league teams playing in Houston.

Don't worry - George already fired the kicker and is trying to hire Pele.

Ok, I'm a little biased, but what are the odds that SportsCenter will lead with Yanks/Sox, when the performance of the night is Carlos Zambrano - 8 innings, 1 hit, 8K's, and 2 BB's. Oh yea, I almost forgot, he hit a 3-run HR, and also had a sac fly for 4 RBI's for the night.

Ok, I was right - they led with hockey.

Hockey?

Does anyone outside of Canada really care? Was there a visit by a Canadian diplomat to the ESPN complex, and they were just being considerate?

Aw geeze, M, that's the Cubbies. Nobody gives a sh!t about them anymore- not even their own mothers.

You won't see anybody lead with them until they sign Sosa, and that's gonna be real soon from what I've read.
