When it gets that deep you should keep your shoes on.

Unless you're switching to boots.

The Royals break their 13-game losing streak by beating. . . the Yankees? Ouch.

Of course! The Yankees take what, 2 of 3 from Boston and then turn around and loose to the the Royals? They seem to always have a hard time with the Royals and the Devil Rays.

What does a .303 lifetime average and 1,400 hits over 13 seasons with one team get you? 26th place in a NASCAR truck series race. Strange.

NASCAR, Chuck?

NASCAR?

Racing has gone t'hell in a hand basket. I turned it on today for the first time in my life; mainly because someone told me a woman was driving in it. I sez "you gotta be sh!tting me- a woman?". Sho' nuff, there's someone called Danica Patrick just a-motoring away. First time I ever saw a driver in the 500 go into a curve while talking on her cell phone and putting on her lipstick.

Lah me......

It's true, it's true......

They should stick to bumper cars at the fair imo.

She's got a cute little figure on her tho, so they want her big time. She'll be on Letterman tomorrow night, I bet, since she races for Rahal-Letterman.

Marco A showed a rookie mistake - let the lead go with 300m left. There's gotta be a way to secure a victory in that sitch.

But I agree - racing ain't what it used to be.

Ob baseball content: 715. Asterisk, or mere progress?

Couldn't believe the Yankees led 6 to 5 and had the bases loaded in the 7th(?) with 2 outs and didn't get a couple of runs out of that.

First it was Matsui's gruesome writst injury, then Mariano injures his back while putting on his shoes, then Sheffield goes on the DL with a muscle strain, and now Jeter gets plunked on the hand (although I heard the x-rays were negative). I'm not sure I've ever seen a stretch where 4 of a team's 5 or 6 most important players get injured in such close succession. Very tough stretch.

On the upside, Moyer pitched a 2-hit gem for Seattle the other night. I heard he's the oldest guy to throw a complete game shutout since Charlie Hough in '90 or something like that.

On the downside, Atlanta gets swept by Arizona in a 4-game series (in Atlanta) for the first time ever. The party may be over for the Braves, I think.
