Maybe the Ohio guys are just getting it done and the guys in your area are not? I know we have officials that come from Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa and Missouri come in and work games. If you have an IHSA license, you can work any HS game. That never has bothered me. Some officials live right on the boarder and working games in two states just makes sense.

I work 3 conferences in Illinois even though I live in Madison (actually just north of Madison). Fills out some nights I wouldn't otherwise have games. I live at least an hour from my closest IHSA game and I usually work about 10 IL games a season (holiday tourneys and Saturdays mostly).

Whomever assigns games decides who works. If he/she selects poorly, he/she won't have a job after a while.
