I think that is some sort of left handed complement.
Just remember these directions to get from Ohio State to the Univ. of Mich.:
1) Go north unitl you smell it.
2) Then go west until you step in it.

Anybody that would go west must be from Ohio. Everybody else would stop at "north".

I think those directions are from school (Ohio State) to school (Michigan).
I could be wrong...but I'm from Texas so that rarely happens
