Why would a Assignor from Michigan (Lenawee County), use officials from Ohio over Officials from Michigan. He must be getting a kick back from Ohio Refs!!!!!!! Michigan Officials are sitting home on game nights while our border buckeyes are doing our games.

Maybe the Ohio officials are certified to work in Michigan and are better than the Michigan officials who were available?

Probably, tho, he's just out to screw Michigan officials.

Out-of-state officials that are registered for regular season games in Michigan are not elegible for tournament assignments in Michigan. Tournament officials must reside in Michigan.

This is an issue that all boarding states have on some level. I know for a fact this is not new to your country or area. I worked in Iowa for two years during the baseball season. My partner and I were qualified. We proved we were some of the best umpires in the association and all the coaches wanted to see us. Maybe that is what is happening in your area. Maybe the Ohio guys are just getting it done and the guys in your area are not? I know we have officials that come from Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa and Missouri come in and work games. If you have an IHSA license, you can work any HS game. That never has bothered me. Some officials live right on the boarder and working games in two states just makes sense.

1) Go north unitl you smell it.

2) Then go west until you step in it.

I think those directions are from school (Ohio State) to school (Michigan).

I could be wrong...but I'm from Texas so that rarely happens :D

I work 3 conferences in Illinois even though I live in Madison (actually just north of Madison). Fills out some nights I wouldn't otherwise have games. I live at least an hour from my closest IHSA game and I usually work about 10 IL games a season (holiday tourneys and Saturdays mostly).

Whomever assigns games decides who works. If he/she selects poorly, he/she won't have a job after a while.
