Do you mean they said to let her play and not question her attire? I do understand that, if that is how it was handled. But officials are, in fact, making a ruling on the uniform issue...either by letting her play or by not letting her play.
Again, I may just have missed it and not understood it exactly.

The girl had informed the IHSA of her intentions and she was allowed to play in a uniform that was not actually legal under the rules. She was not allowed to play during a game by some officials during the season. The IHSA made it clear to let her play and that they were giving her clearance regardless of what the rules stated.
