1. A1 is dribbling the ball. Ball is poked away by B1. Bounces off of A2 and is going past the division line. A1, in an attempt to save the ball from going into the backcourt, jumps off of his left foot, which is touching the division line, and tips the ball, which never made contact with the floor in the backcourt, back into the frontcourt. Is this a backcourt violation?

2. A1 secures a rebound. Pivots a couple times. Starts to lose his balance, and as he is falling toward the floor, catches himself with his left hand and stays up. His feet both stay on the ground as he is falling. He is holding the ball in his right hand. Is this a travel?

It makes no difference whether the ball goes into the BC or not. When A1 touches the ball, he has BC status. Violation.

Not until/unless a member of Team A touches it before a member of Team B.

In the immortal words of the immortal Mark Padgett....WTF?

A1 is the team A member that touched it before a member of team B. Last touched by A2 in the frontcourt--->first touched by A1 who has backcourt status. Pretty straightforward, ain't it?

LOL OOOOOOOOOPS!!!! Read it wrong! Disregard my previous post. In fact, disregard my previous 6,000 posts!

Got home from new applicants' class. My brain is all "A1"-ed out. Never mind!

Well.....you certainly had me going for a while there. I read and re-read your post a coupla times, wondering what little rules nuance I was maybe missing.

They were trying to get enough for my retirement fund, but they could only come up 27 cents.
