AAU rules vary from tournament to tournament. They just try to get the games done in less than an hour to keep on schedule. I have kept the book for a lot of AAU games. The worst thing is when the other scorer is cheering or booing wildly and then disputes foul counts of the accurate scorer who pays attention to details like who the official is actually calling the foul on.
