Yanks sign Larry Bowa to be 3rd base coach. Somebody with big league managing experience, just in case Joe doesn't make it thru '06?
|
Manny wants to be traded.
And he really means it this time...... |
So I've heard. Theo's just re-signed for 3 years, and he's dealt with the annual Manny request pretty well so far. So we'll see if he continues to deal with it; or unloads him. I hope he stays. This year he was out-done by Ortiz, so I think next year, he'll tear up the league.

It ain't gonna be easy to unload Manny and get any kinda value for him imo. $57mil over the next 3 years might kinda cut down the number of teams interested in dealing for him too- unless Bah-ston throws a pile of money into the deal. Also, his "Manny being Manny" act ain't gonna play in some cities either. If Manny did his thing in a place like, say, Philly, the townspeople would be getting the pitchforks out in a big hurry.
I just hope that the Yanks don't do anything stupid like trying to sign Johnny Damon. Just like Bernie Williams, I think that he's reached and gone by his "past due" date as a center fielder. They both have similar throwing arms- none. With any luck, Bah-ston will re-up Damon for 4 more years (I hope). Btw, I formally gave up on that Damon book finally. I tried to struggle through it off and on, but when I hit p.154, I had to admit defeat. The body was willing but the mind was weak. Damon came up with the following proclamation- "Hey, what can I say? I'm just blessed with good hair. It's turned into a Samson thing. My hair is my strength". Yup, he said that. Yup, he was serious too. Kinda reminded me of another great Bah-ston player.....Sam Malone. Sam--"I thought thay you weren't going to call me stupid now that we're being intimate". Dianne- "No, I said I wasn't going to call you stupid while we're being intimate". |

Yeah, yesterday they announced that he re-signed for 3 years.
This afternoon around 3, Peter Gammons reported that they would get him signed some time today. At about 5:45, I heard on PTI that he resigned! Go figure. Not a good day for Red Sox Nation. |
Ain't it about time for this one to be locked and dumped off the board? And how bout doing next years on the Baseball or General board.

If you don't like it, don't read the damn thing! You've been here 3 freaking months and now it's your job to tell us what to do? Not freaking likely, bozo. [Edited by Jurassic Referee on Oct 31st, 2005 at 08:15 PM] |
Did I hit a couple of nerves?
