Maybe down under, but not under our rules. Padgett!!!!!!!!!! Shoo the FEEBLE ref away!!!!!!!!
I must agree that it's illogical to inbound the ball at midcourt after a intentional/flagrant foul during live ball. But since I don't know thoroughly every set of rules, let me ask you guys a question: What's so feeble about FIBA rules??

I'd love to!! But I'm serious. I don't want to read 3 whole rulebooks just to see the superiority of the American rule sets! So can any of you point me out the main differences that make FIBA rules so worthless?

Thanks!

OK, here goes. It's not that their rules are worthless, it's much more philosophical than that. Basketball was invented by a Canadian working in the U.S. For many years, this was the only place it was even played. Then the Euros come along and establish a "world governing body" for what is really our sport. They think they know better than us what rules are best for the sport. To me, this would be like some U.S. organization claiming it was the world governing body for opera. I guess you could say it's a feeling of resentment.

When you add that nation of surrender monkeys over there to the mix, and understand that the initials in FIBA aren't even in English (the home language of the founding country - the U.S.), it's no wonder some of us feel the way we do about the situation.

Mostly, it's all in fun (really) and nothing malicious is intended. Actually the french (I'll start capitalizing it when they earn the right by finally winning a war) do make good pastry.

OK!!! Now I understand!

So I see it's more hate than disagreement that you guys feel against FIBA!

BTW, I didn't know that the number of wars won was a known criteria to capitalize or not the name of a population...

Oh yes! Here's to really get you started. I took that quote from the FIBA website:
Quote:
OUR MISSION:
FIBA governs basketball worldwide, making the rules and keeping the sport in line.
We make sure basketball is challenging, exciting and fascinating for everyone – everywhere. FIBA is basketball.
Go ahead! You got an open shot!!

Just another reinforcement that FIBA stands for Foreign Idiots, Buttheads and A$$holes.

And yes, capitalization is totally dependent upon success in war. Didn't you know that? It's in the Geneva Convention.

You mean the annual Aluminum Siding Manufacturers of America's Convention and Trade Show, held in Geneva Illinois every year?

Oh, yea - the famous conflict between Geneva and Batavia! I thought Batavia came out on top?

(My wife grew up in Batavia; I'm just sticking up for her hometown.)

I lived in Aurora for a while back in 1969-70. That whole area is really picturesque.

Damn, then I've been doing the same mistake for several years! We should write: United States of America!!
