But it's important to point out that the blood doesn't matter much if it's not "excessive". If he just scraped his hand, and it's sort of oozing slowly, and there is a small, thin smear of blood on the jersey, it's probably not illegal, especially after a few seconds.

However, if they want to change jerseys, it's legal to trade with a player who won't then play.
