Sitch: A-Home, B-Visiting. A1 scrapes hand and starts bleeding but goes unnoticed for a few minutes. During contact in the post for rebounds, A1's bloody hand stains three players jerseys - B1, B2, and B3. Once noticed, A1, along with B1, B2, and B3 are called off the floor. A1's jersey is OK, but gets a bandage put on. B1 and B2 get replacement jerseys with different numbers that the visiting team had available. Book was changed with no penalty.
There is no third replacement available to the visiting team, so coach asks if player can wear a jersey of a bench player that wasn't figuring to play. Officials allowed it, and so B12 took off jersey giving it to B3. Table crossed out B12's name and changed B3's number in the book. Again no tech or violation.
Question: While the above seems to make sense overall, is this OK? References please. I've tried to locate one but don't have a clue where to start (you know us coaches aren't as smart as officials.
