Have a BB question: When a player is throwing a ball inbounds does he have to keep his spot? or can he move a little? This is not on a made shot. And I know alot of yall think you know the answer, but if anyone has the rule I would like to see a link to it to.
thanks and, Im not talking about on a made basket. |

NCAA Rulebook:
http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/20...ball_rules.pdf Rule 7-6 Art. 5. The thrower-in shall not leave the designated spot until he/she has released the ball and the thrown-in ball crosses the plane of the sideline or endline. |

xbear, Germane to your question is the following fundamental: mick [/B][/QUOTE] Thanks for reminding us of the Fundamentals. (page 74 of the 2004-2005 NFHS book) I think we nitpick the rules while overlooking the common sense of the fundamentals. |

I do have another question, if someone does move outside the 3 foot spot, what does the ref call? If you cant travel out of bounds? |
|

Not traveling, but a throw in violation.
Tweet, point other way. SECTION 2 THROW-IN PROVISIONS A player shall not violate the following provisions governing the throw-in. The thrower shall not: ART. 1 . . . Leave the designated throw-in spot until the ball has been released on a throw-in pass.
