No, he's not stuck. Throwing the ball off his opponent's backboard is the same as a dribble.

IT'S PERFECTLY LEGAL TO THROW THE BALL OFF YOUR OWN BACKBOARD AND THEN RETRIEVE IT, AT ANY TIME!!!!!!!
