wrong
If A2 establishes control while in the air and then comes down with one foot on or over the line we have a backcourt violation. This is due to the fact that the player had front court status when he left the floor on his jump. He maintains that status until he comes back down. When he landed with one foot on/over the line he was the first one to touch the ball while in the backcourt after the ball had acquired front court status.

The location of an airborne player is determined by where he was last at. In this case the player was in the frontcourt, went airborne (where he caught the ball), then landed in backcourt. When the player caught the ball, because he had frontcourt status, the ball now has frontcourt status. When the player lands in backcourt we have a violation.

If team A is inbounding the ball in their front court and they pass the ball and the player receiving the ball jumps from the front court, catches the ball in the air and lands in the back court, there is no violation. I think it is important to note this exception, as this play has happened twice in my games this year. |

There is no team control or player control during a throw-in, but on top of that there is NO frontcourt or backcourt either.
