Team A is losing near the end of the game and is on defense and the bench is yelling to "foul her". A1 does so in a legitimate way by going for the ball and hits her arm. Coach from Team B wants a technical for the fact that Team A is yelling to foul a player. Game was a blowout and I just told coach I wasnt listening to their commnets. Game ended up with no problems. Seems to me I have heard of some tech being called for that but cant find it in the book. Any ideas?

Seriously, welcome to the board. Expect to take a little good natured teasing. Just remember, no one is mean spirited and we all kid each other a little.

I'm sure I have said it before, but one (of the many) advantages of FIBA rules is that it is no longer an intentional foul, it is now an unsportsmanlike foul.
The old rules used to say that it was an intentional foul if the players intention was to stop the game clock. By definition this basically meant that any foul in the dying seconds of a game could (should?) be called as an intentional. I believe that this was the main reason that it was changed - along with the fact that no-one can actually determine the INTENTIONS of another person - only the result of their actions. That being said - I would never T the coach (or anyone else) for yelling out "foul"
