Been to clinics and rules interps. where it's said an intentional foul should be called if the coach is yelling "foul him/her. With a well coached team a coach will yell out red or black or call a special play and the player will be fouled. That being said if it's a "normal foul" I can't recall calling a foul as outlined above. The proper call would not be a Tee rather an intentional foul should have been called if a call is made. That being said I think you handled it well.
