Is it a travel when two members of the same team are holding or controlling the ball simultaneousley? I can't find it in the rule book. Maybe that rule is just a myth?

Myth. It's only a travel if one of the players who is holding the ball actually travels.

Not unless they travel as per rule.

Chuck, not tryin to nit-pick you but....

If one is holding the ball how can the other one travel? Would it not have to be both players moving with the ball?

I don't have my rule books in front of me but if you go to Rule 4 (Definitions) in the Rules Book (both NFHS and NCAA) you will find that it defines such a scenario as described by Chuck as traveling.

Traveling

If you go to the Case Book for 2004-05 on Page 32. There is a situation 4.32.2 Situation B. I believe explains the joint possession very well.

If one of the players moves so that you'd call it a travel if s/he was the only one holding the ball, you'd still call it a travel if a teammate is also holding the ball. Does that make sense? I'm not really sure exactly what you're asking, but I hope I answered it.
