Is it a travel when two members of the same team are holding or controlling the ball simultaneousley? I can't find it in the rule book. Maybe that rule is just a myth?

Myth. It's only a travel if one of the players who is holding the ball actually travels.

If one is holding the ball how can the other one travel? Would it not have to be both players moving with the ball? |

I don't have my rule books in front of me but if you go to Rule 4 (Definitions) in the Rules Book (both NFHS and NCAA) you will find that it defines such a scenario as described by Chuck as traveling. MTD, Sr. |
Traveling
If you go to the Case Book for 2004-05 on Page 32. There is a situation 4.32.2 Situation B. I believe explains the joint possession very well.

Because both players are on the same team they both have joint control. 4.43.2 case book
