Has anyone ever had experiences (good or bad) with the scorekeeper using an electronic device (computer or PDA) to keep the book instead of the more traditional pencil & paper?

Have seen some problems with scoreboards where the console is a laptop PC. But have not seen a computer-based scorebook used anywhere I've been.

STATE ASSOCIATION ADOPTIONS 7 SITUATION B: If the scorer uses a computerized system instead of the traditional scorebook, is it legal? RULING: It is not permitted unless the state association has specifically approved and authorized its use to aid in game administration. Therefore, I doubt that you will find anyone who has encountered them. I do not know of any state which has an adoption that allows them. Perhaps someone will tell us that their state allows them. |
