Ok, I am thinking about switching to under armor for my undershirts this year. I sweat a lot (hold your comments JR) and I've found that cotton doesnt really do well with sweat. It seems like it just gets wet and lays on you and worse, unless you can wash it 5 min after your game, it doesnt take much to get the funk going again the next game.

So the questions are:

1) have you switched?

2) Like / dislike, why, why not?

3) Know of another brand thats cheaper / essentially the same thing?

4) Know a good place to get em cheaper than underarmor.com ($25ea) ?

Thanks

Larks

definitely better than a cotton t'shirt...
holds all the sweat in, and it helps with feel a lot better...not at all bulky like when you have a t-shirt on too...i hate the two shirts thing!!!! But 25 bucks is great deal on them... i have been paying 29

A friend found a shirt just like under armor but cheaper at Walmart. He said it does the job just like under armor. Said his ran about 10 bucks.

I wear an InteraWear black V.

McDavid

I wear the McDavid brand. They make a V-neck shirt that works well and you cannot see under the striped shirt. I also use the McDavid ankle length tights. Both keeps the sweat off of you and keeps the rest of you body cool and your muscles warm.

Peace

2) It's really nice. It keeps me dry, I'm not to sure about being any cooler though.

I too wear the stuff from WalMart. They do have a brand that sells for $10 but sometimes you can find the starter brand there for $15.

I've been wearing Under Armor for about a year. I like it a lot. It feels much lighter than a T. It takes care of the sweat better, as well. However, after a year of blatantly disregarding the "no fabric softener" rule, mine don't seem as good with sweat now. I'll most likely replace them and wash them more obediently next time.

I have been looking to getting armor undershirt, but have to find them for under $40.00 at any of the sporting Goods stores. I will have to check at Wally world.

The trouble with some of the "sweat free" stuff is that it retains the salts (and related odors) and can get pretty ugly to wear.

Mick, are you talking about the no-name Walmart stuff or are you talking about any underarmor-type shirt?

I am not familiar with Underarmor, Chuck.
But I am familiar with InteraWear, Patagonia and Dri-eight.
It has been my observation that the less you pay the farther away you should stand from game participants. ;)

Haven't tried anything but UA. I wore them through 2 tours in Iraq and also on the court. They don't show the sweat, breathe well, and are comfortable to wear. You can get the type that is skin tight or they also make a loose fitting one. They have made products like this for years for bicycling.
You can get them cheaper if you want to take a flight over to Doha (Kuwait). But it is a long flight and they don't sell beer over there.

Thanks, Dudly!
