The player gets the ball after being in the lane for 2 sec
we suspend the count knowing he has now been in the lane for 3 sec or more this player is allowed to attempt a try (within a reasonable time maybe a head fake or 2)(or if at the top of the restricted area drives to the basket) if the player passes the ball he has now violated the 3 sec rule.
