We all make call based on how our minds, process/interpret what we witness.
From details you posted, this is a quick-hitting play that you instinctively (and correctly, IMHO) blew the whistle. The Pivot foot was established in the FC. The non-pivot foot crossed into the BC. If I am a fan, I can also accept a non-call. Thinking that the Official determined she had not established control of the ball in the FC.
