Thumbs up

Ref18 pointed out how Reebok has come out with a patent leather shoe. Now I know there are some strong opinions both for and against the "shiney shoe", but, I was wondering if we've ever had a thread that just polled yea, nay or not sure as to liking them and yea or nay as to who has used them. I would be very interested to see if we have a majority one way or the other.

I've been debating trying them, but have hesitated because of opinion of officials I respect.

I'll start, hope we have alot of you express your opinion and if there was a thread on this already, maybe someone could list it for me.

Like them?: not sure, but think so.
Used them?: Nay.

I choose NOT to wear man made or "leather like" shoes!
Your feet need to breath, and that can't happen in plastic.

I like em'. So busy during the winter months and I love not having to spend time shining up my shoes. My converse patent leather shoes are comfortable and worth the extra bucks to me.

I haven't used them and I don't want to. But when it's part of moving up, I'm not going to argue.

Is anyone seeing it becoming part of 'moving up' anywhere in the country?

I don't think they will ever be part of moving up. They have been around long enough to catch on with some heavy hitters and they haven't. I think the shoe is ugly so I wouldn't wear them if they were patent leather or not. Someone also mentioned them being worth the extra bucks. I wouldn't wear them if they were free! Having said all of that if some one else likes them more power to you. I'm sure somebody doesn't like my shoes.

Its also a comfort thing. All that matters is that its black, and your feet will be comfortable in it. I like the converse, and with some new insoles, its comfortable.

I just bought a pair of the New Balance very comfortable shoe, and I'm gonna try and find some leather luster so i can make it shine.

Personally, I think that anyone that dares to wear the pleated sans-a-belts is a couple legs up on me. Then ya gotta get that lasso lanyard hangin' around your V-neck shirt. ...Then the shoes.

My understanding is that the person around here who controls small college assignments wants shiny shoes. Reely, reely shiny.

And while you're at it be the best you can be one of the few. One of the proud.

(Edit: just realized what I said. Sorry son.)
