We gonna do this for the next 4 and a half months?
Why not? It's not like I'm doing a lot of hoop right now. Although the NCAA Lacrosse Semis are on today. Fun stuff. By the way, I got my application for Brad Tracy's MAAC tryout. You gonna be there?
OK, you got a point.

Didn't apply. When's the camp?

Good luck!

Chuck, how's Maryland doing? I'm at work and can't get to a TV. I'm really pulling for Maryland to win the whole thing. Mike Mollot (he graduated last year from Maryland) played HS lacrosse where my kids attended (Sachem HS in Holbrook, NY).

Yeah, but:

vs. AL East teams:
New York . . . . 12-9
Boston . . . . . 22-10

-and-

tete-a-tete:
New York . . . . 1
Boston . . . . . 6

AL West
Anaheim 32 20 .615

NL East
Florida 30 23 .566

Cincinnati 32 21 .604
NL West
Los Angeles 28 23 .549

-and-

New York 9-1 over last 10 games

Pedro's not looking too good, is he? He's lost a lot more than I thought, even in pre-season. And Lowe looks like he's about to go off the deep end any day now.

Maybe Nomar and Trot will rally the troops when (maybe I should say "if") they get back on the active roster. . .

From Power Rankings

From Power Rankings - Dan George, S.I. (Inside Baseball)
Boston Red Sox
Nomar Garciaparra has been on the DL all season, yet he leads AL shortstops in All-Star fan voting. This is why people shouldn't be entrusted with important things like choosing All-Star teams. Presidents, yes. All-Stars, no.

As I said, Pedro is reminding me more and more of Ron Guidry. Power pitcher with a slight frame. Only so many pitches available in his arm, and when they're gone, it's retirement time. Too bad. Hope I'm wrong, even though he can be a butthead sometime (note that I didn't call him a bozo ).

Wow. 8 innings, fastball consistently at 93-94. Great changeup. Could I have been too hasty about Pedro?

Have to see if he makes his annual trip to the DL right after the All-Star break. Speaking of All-Stars, looks like Nomar's gonna get the start!!

Think it had anything to do with his new haircut, Chuck? He's got a "Manny Do" now.

Anybody watching the Sox/Giants game in San Fran? What a bizarre 5th inning. Giants drop two routine flies, giving the Sox the lead, then Manny makes a pretty nice little running catch in foul territory while trying not to trip over the bullpen mound. Funky game.

No.

Ya see, even though the Sox website said the game would be on FOX, I didn't realize that the Dodgers game would also be on FOX.

At the same time.

Needless to say, they carried the Dodgers game in Washington.
