Just out of curiosity, how is the ALCS loss being portrayed in the NY media? I heard a national radio talk show host (FOX radio) describe it as the biggest choke job of all time. Is the NY media being that hard on the Yankees? Are they sloughing it off as a lucky statistical anomoly?

Personally, I think that calling it a huge choke job denigrates the effort of the Red Sox. But obviously, I have a huge bias.

[/B][/QUOTE]From what I've read, the general feeling in NY seems to be that Boston was a completely worthy winner- which was my feeling also. It was more a matter of the BoSox SLIGHTLY outplaying the Yankees than the Yankees choking. The real choking dog was the Professor in St. Louis, as usual. LaRussa is just a whining little turkey, imo. Genius? Bah! Most newspapers around the country seemed to agree with that also. There was a good story by Harvey Araton in the NY Times this morning that seemed to better sum up how most NY fans feel about Boston winning. I'll dig up a link and post it.

Believe it or not, we've been a little too busy up here hugging everybody we know to run out and get hooked up with Direct TV, just so we can watch Mike and the Mad Dog. And since the Post and Daily News don't get delivered to my door, I thought maybe somebody a little closer to the Bronx might have a better feel for the current mood than I do.

Maybe you're a little grumpier than usual b/c of recent events in the Stadium, but that's not really a joking subject. It was an accident and a tragedy, especially b/c it resulted from a "non-lethal" instrument.

This just in. The Boston Red Sox lost their championship parade today in the bottom of the ninth when a duck boat driven by Manny Ramirez went through Bill Buckner's legs.

The parade was a tremendous success today. I watched some of it from home before my scrimmage. Looked like everyone had a great time. My partner got a call from his buddy who was there. The sounded like he was having the best time of his life. Pretty funny. And even if you don't like the Red Sox or parades, a woman jumped into the Charles River naked. So there was something for everyone.

Now that there are no more games, here's a trivia question for the Yankee fans out there. Who is the only Yankee player to wear both uniform #3 and uniform #7 during his career?
