Mark T.,
I would expect this thread to continue until the Cubs win the World Series, ... and then continue from there.

Hey Mark, tell your son not to worry. Being a Yankee fan waiting for a World Series win is like being a Florida resident waiting for the next hurricane.

What happened this year is a mere setback, a bump in the road, an anomaly, a perturbation, a freak of nature, a statistically remote outcome, just one of those things.

It's not like he's a Red Sox fan and will have to wait another 86 years (and counting) for his team to win a world series.

Chuck, I hope Kath has come and baled you out by now!
Not only has she "baled" him out, she also "bailed" him out. Sorry, the Yankees losing made me cranky!

If this really happened, "baling" is what Chuck should get!

No need. As Dan will tell you, I'm very quick on my feet. I got away before the cops got there. Actually, Kath and I enjoyed the game at home. Lots of calls to my cell around midnight, too

There's a whole lot of sour grapes being squished in this thread. Let it suffice to say that I'm not going respond, gloat or brag. It's enough that we won. Seven down, four to go.

Chuck, you still need to learn how to really enjoy the "fun" things that happen in life- those moments that may never come around again. Respond, gloat, brag.... we can take it.

Might be a good idea to buy a remote car-starter though.

The slide wasn't even necessary. I don't know why so many outfielders to this. It's almost always unnecessary. At least Manny finally got a couple RBIs.

Yeah, I particularly liked the RBI he got when he went into his home run trot on the single that he hit. The one where he hopped, pointed, kissed his own ring.....before running. You know, the one where he coulda taken second easy on the throw home, but because he was barely past first, he almost got thrown out trying to go to 2nd and then having to return to first. Woulda been thrown out if somebody on the Cards hadda covered first.

Manny.
