His reincarnation was sitting on the NY bench due to a "tumor/intestinal parasite" most likely caused by steriod abuse.
That is where the blame has to fall for NY's loss. Both the steriod abuse of the player and the failure of the front office to check him out before inking him to a huge contract were serious mistakes.

Their other steroid user going belly up the last four games had much more to do with it.

I guess we will know when the Red Sox are up a run in the bottom of the 9th.
The Curse is supposedly that the BoSox will never win a World Series- not beat the Yankees. The Sox have beaten the Yankees a few times since 1918 but haven't won a Series. Iow, the Curse is still alive today, and will be until they win the Big One.

OK guys and gals. This pains me to no end to say this but the better team won the AL title. After the Yankees were up 3-0, I told my son (who btw is a Yankee hater) that if the Yankees can't beat Boston once in the remaining 4 games, they don't deserve to be in the WS. Guess I was right.

Come on St. Louis!

Great night. Great week.

Never been done. Feel's great.

Four more to go.

In 4th place, and only 10 points behind the leader, I'm thinking about taking the Jets in my fb pool, when no-one else will, to earn a bunch of free points.

You kidding?

You honestly think that the Sox can win a World Series?

In your lifetime?

I thought your wife had talked you into cutting back a little on the HappyHerb useage. Apparently not.

Sigh...me too. Congrats to all you Sox fans out there.

Anywho, life goes on, and as JR already said so does the curse.

[/B][/QUOTE]What Dan said to all of the Sox fans. We got out-pitched, out-hit and out-defensed. That's all she wrote.

The only problem is now the little guy has got bragging rights until next October. Please Lord, don't let 'em win a World Series now too. I know that You got a sense of humor, but that would be taking it just a little bit too far.

Elsewhere, 29 people were arrested at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst after revelers threw beer cans and flaming toilet paper at police.

Chuck, I hope Kath has come and baled you out by now!

*PREDICTION*

Lemme see now; how do we want this to work out?

Houston? Nah, can't pull for any team with Roger Clemens on it. I normally like the underdog- but Houston?

St. Louis? Whoa!!! Absolutely cannot stand the Perfessor- Tony La Russa. Guy had a picture of George Will with a farm animal, I think, and made Will portray him as some kind of genius in his book Men At Work, and he's been living off that portrayal ever since. Never mind that he won ONE(1) World Series with Oakland when he had the players to win 4 or 5 in a row, and he's never won anything else anywhere since. And he needed a freaking earthquake to help him win the one damned Series that he did win.

That leaves Boston.

Like hell it does!

Only thing left to do is hope for a BoSox/Cardinals series. I'll still be pissed off that one of them will win, but it will tempered somewhat by the thought that the other one lost.

Best I can do.

Your predictions?

Since the Red Sox have destroyed my 11 yr old son's dreams of the Yankees winning the World Series this year, am I correct in assuming that this thread will not be over until the end of the World Series.
