When printing a PDF, once can specify printing 2 two pages of the file on one sheet so you use ½ the paper. (4 pages per sheet is also possible, but not very legible )

And if a machine doesn't have much memory or free drive space, large PDFs will slow stuff down.

I believe they are available in some sporting goods stores. It would be up to the store to carry them. But, not many people would actually buy them. Most "fans" don't really want to know the rules.
