When printing a PDF, once can specify printing 2 two pages of the file on one sheet so you use ½ the paper. (4 pages per sheet is also possible, but not very legible )

And if a machine doesn't have much memory or free drive space, large PDFs will slow stuff down.

I also like the idea of selling the rule books in sporting goods stores. I notice the NCAA basketball rule books are available at Barnes and Noble. However, it's not the actual copy that we would order from the NCAA, but the same rule book with a different cover distributed by some other publishing company.

I believe they are available in some sporting goods stores. It would be up to the store to carry them. But, not many people would actually buy them. Most "fans" don't really want to know the rules.
