Mick, I will be riding to a game today, I'll check it out and let you know. [/B]

Bart,
Found it in the 2002-2003 CCA Women's Officiating Manual.
  • Counts: A. "Officials are required to give a visible count on all time-limit situations except for the 3-second lane and 10 seconds on a free throw."

  • Yes, I read it also. Did you see the 5 sec. court coverage? That totally does not make sense to me. Take a look and see IF you can explain it to me. One of my partners and I saw that and we both didn't get it.

    Bart,
I have re-looked at the "power point" presentation and have concluded that the picture is just wrong. There's nothing else to back up that picture, no complementary pictures, texts, nothing. It's just stoopid; ..., so I colored it.

Mick, I did the no visual last night, after the game I realized I didn't even count to myself. I guess it just takes practice.

    Bart,
Good job on the "no visible".
But, how can you not count to yourself?
That has to be almost an art form!
I have found myself merely watching a live game and thinking, "...one, ..two, ..three...."

This was one boring game. My partner and I were haveing a little fun and checking each other to make sure we didn't have a visual. I was more concerned about no visual that the count to myself thing just went right over my head. Duhhh. Well I promise I will not let it happen again.

    Bart,
    Yeah, ...been there.

You were having one of those "self-clinics".
We get to concentrating on a new mechanic, and we can easily lose sight of what we have done second-naturedly for years.

    That's funny.
