Rule 5 Scoring and Timing Regulations

.08 on the clock in 2nd. Team A has throw in in their backcourt. Team A player throws long pass and is caught by another Team A player who immediately throws in it for a 3. .08 is still on the clock. Clock did not properly start.

The officials got together and decided to cancel goal and do the original throw in all over again.

Rule 5-1 ART. 2 says whether the clock is running or stopped has no influence on the counting of the goal.

Did the officials make the correct ruling? I would of kept the points on the board and make an adjustment to the .08 seconds remaining for a throw in for the other team.
