Lane violation on def after player has ball

Team A shooting FT. R gives ball to shooter, team B ten has someone from behind extended free throw line run up into lane position.

What is the call?

Delayed violation.

Ball goes in, play on.

Ball misses, replacement free throw.

Things can get complicated if the ball misses the rim.

Was the shooter distracted by the late arriving defender? If so, replacement free throw.

If not, double violation.

Now that can get complicated, depending on how many free throws and which free this was in the sequence.

More free throws, play on.

No more free throws, alternating possession arrow.

Delayed violation

BillyMac:

Please refresh the young pups as well as the old dogs on the proper mechanics for a delayed violation on free throw.

Thanks

Imagine the One Armed Man from the 1960's television show, The Fugitive, trying to signal a double foul.

Note: First time I ever discovered one of my own generated images on the Google. Third image listed, not too shabby. This is one of my two suggested signal label changes that were approved by IAABO this season. My fifteen minutes of fame.
