Texas Tech vs Texas last shot

https://youtu.be/s-mmJPrKQJc

Who has him pushing off and who has the stones to call it in that situation?

Easy call to make, obvious advantage gained by the offense and defense had an obvious disadvantage. That's why they get paid the big bucks

They get paid the big bucks to not enforce the rules? Wait... yea, I guess they do.

T seems too high and C seems too low on that play (I don't know if C could have seen it if he was at FT line extended, but he'd have a better chance).

Ehh. Marginal. I don’t think I’d make that call at other points in the game, so I’m not going to make it there, either. I’m totally ok with the no call.

Players have learned how to achieve separation really well. This is a great example of A1 keeping and extending his arm and hand low - avoiding obvious contact to the upper torso. I see it in higher level h.s. games from time to time.

This is a PC foul, but I can see why the officials either didn't see it or did see it and passed on it. The latter probably because it was allowed at least a time or two earlier in the game.

Make that call and I can guarantee that Curtis Shaw would have left a voicemail on your phone before you got back to the lockeroom....saying he no longer needed you for the Big 12 tournament.

No call.....not even close.....

Are we talking about the video with the last foul with like 3.4 seconds?

Is this the play?

Peace

Yikes. Defender wasn't vertical but that's because either a. the ball handler moved him and the stationary inertia of his arms caused them to stay where they were while his body moved, or b. he got hit in the stomach and that caused him to fold. Maybe some combination of the two. Either way, I'm passing on that one.

I was instructed years ago, anytime you go into the chest of a defender as the ball handler and you should not penalize the defender if he is "bowed" by the contact. To me, this would have been a better no call. I can see why it was called, but I would try to not call this foul if I can.

Peace

The video you (JRut) posted is NOT the same video as linked by the OP. In the OP's video, someone drove from the top of the key, made contact on a defender with the off arm , stepped back, and made a basket.

The question is whether that was a foul.

Do you know the time in the game at all? The game went into overtime, was it during the overtime?

Peace

I don't believe B's collapsing arms were due to contact from A.
