And, it's hard to really find anything we can learn from this -- other than maybe to always be ready for it, especially from the opposite side

I think there is something to be learned....don't call it if you're straightlined with what needs to be seen. Trust your partner with the better angle to get it.

I'm saying that if it's close like this the expectation is go with the offense getting the benefit of the doubt. Not saying that all 50/50 calls have to go the offenses way, just that the expectation is that it will. Either is right in my book, I tend to lean towards the offense I find.

Around :35 is the decisive angle for me--behind the bucket. I see the ball graze the glass a split-second before the St. John's player gets it.
In real time, though, the ref is gonna piss off one team no matter what. |
