I what makes play one difficult is that the defenders arms are not straight up and has them over the offensive play at almost a 45º angle. I think I would go block or no call after it went in.

Easy charge.

3. Great call. He clear went out on his own using two screens in the process to shake the defender.

4. He does travel after finally securing the ball. I be curious to see that play from the other side. I think the C's view got obscured just as the defender stuck his hand in there. I'd be curious to see if there was a missed foul on the left arm causing him to lose the ball.

5. Foul on white for not being a legal necklace....long before red grabbed his leg.

(Edit: renumbered comments to match videos)

Agreed -- well, except maybe for the "legal necklace" part.

Play 3: player going oob of his own volition...is that the correct signal? The delayed violation fist?

I was wondering about that too. I don't think I've seen anything that suggest indicating a delayed violation for that situation.

Yep, it is the correct signal.

The problem I have with this is his arms not being vertical didn't really have anything to do with this call. There was no/minimal contact with his illegal arms, but the offensive player definitely drives his shoulder into the chest of an otherwise legal defender. I think you go PC on this and not think twice.

Play 2 is a good PC.

Just to clarify, this is an NCAA thing and not an NFHS thing, correct?

In NFHS, while I do tend to have a patient whistle to see if going marginally OOB for an unauthorized reason results in a distinct advantage, by rule and by manual I think it's supposed to be an immediate violation. I don't believes there's support in NFHS for waiting as long as we're seeing in these videos. Thoughts?

NFHS: Immediate violation.

NCAAW: Violation if the first (meaning "next") to touch the ball after returning. No signal as we saw in the NCAAM video.
