I wonder what the C was thinking/doing on play 5 -- Lead had to come all the way across the lane to get that obvious foul, while the C just casually stands there as if he sees the whole play but somehow rules that legal.

Anyway, that's what I'd want to know from my partner if I was the L on this play. Am I missing something here with college areas of coverage or something?

I what makes play one difficult is that the defenders arms are not straight up and has them over the offensive play at almost a 45º angle. I think I would go block or no call after it went in.

What does the verticality of his arms have to do whether its a block/charge?

In real time it may have been difficult to see white's illegal contact since he seemed to also get to the ball so quickly.

The L had the only look at the foul that was ultimately called, at least what I think was called, for red grabbing the leg.

If the defender has his arms directly over the offensive player and the player jumps up this is illegal contact that occurs before the torso contact for a block/charge.

I guess I thought the call was on White for the bear-hug around the neck. I thought that was an easy call for the C to get. You may be right about the leg grab at the end.

What a useless spam-laden website. Furthermore, the link is broken.
