I hate to say it, but the girl's side gets much weaker refs here as well. They are either guys that have been around a very long time and cannot physically keep up the same, or they are guys that would never get a boy's game because of their skill level.

It is almost impossible to get a boy's game from an assignor here if you do not go to their camp, even if you do varsity for other assignors. I have been scheduled girl's varsity games, based on a presentation I gave.

Peace

Also, JV games are at 4:30, varsity girls at 6, and varsity boys follow, all at the same site in most cases.
Didn't we just have this discussion?

We do the same in northern VA. Freshman @ 4:00, JV @ 5:30, and V @ 7:00 or 7:30. If it is boys night at home, the girls are usually at the opponents school. Some nights we have G/B varsity double headers. Because of the number of schools we work (about 65-70) a varsity official might do a freshman game at one school and a varsity game at another. On occassions, the varsity official will do the freshman game, observe the JV game, and work the varsity game. Either way, it makes for a long night. It is extemely rare that I don't work a double-header of some type, and it can be either boys or girls (we have 1 scholastic assignor).
