Finally!

I have my first tournament/postseason game today. While I've worked hard at getting better I would certainly not be as good (or maybe I should say "not as bad") as I am if it weren't for the invaluable help I've gotten here.

I know I've rubbed some people the wrong way before, and I'm sorry for that. Just know that I respect you all, and thank you.

Good luck tonight! And I know what you mean about how valuable this forum is - NO WAY I would have survived my first two years without this forum.

Congratulations.

Enjoy how this feels now. Eventually, you'll grow jaded and be less than happy about the location of the postseason game or the matchup.

In our state, 100% of the teams are in the postseason -- the regular season is for league championships and seeding. So you get some "interesting" games in the early rounds. Last night there were 20 games with 40 point (running clock) final margins, including 13 where the losing team scored less than 20 points and 2 scored less than 5.

Us? We had a 30 point game that started at 7 PM and was done by 8:10 PM or so.

What's worse? The nutcutter of 100-99 or the excruciating pain of 100-9.....

I'd like to hear how many agree with this....

Bryan your best shot and staying great is stay humble once most think you have arrived. To keep working hard and perfecting your game. I have seen so many once they hit certain stages think they have arrived. Here is to you and the rest of your career and many more playoffs. And to this forum which helps us attain these goals...

PS That type on the score was really funny...LOL

Unfortunately that is what the playoffs can bring.

In our state we have the first round of games are a Regional which are 4 Regions set into a Sectional. The Sectional is ranked form top to bottom and usually the top 4 seeds are in a different Regional. You can get some tough games in those Regionals, but often they are not very good until the Regional Championship. But for use as officials, it is about the playoff points and experience. I have had a game in my first Regional that was like 124-64, which was the first semifinal of that regional that year (back in 2005). But the Regional Championship was a close game with a big upset. So the good and the bad will come. At least in our system we tend to work more than one game in the Regional level, unless you are really newer to the process.

Peace
