I think all 4 are correct.
1) Dribble ends with left foot as pivot. Steps with right, left comes back down. 2) First bounce is not a controlled action. 3) Clear displacement. 4) Holding the defender (wiping-out) while rolling. Illegal. |

All calls should go against Maryland.
![]() 1. No travel 2. Not an illegal dribble. 3. Not a foul, but a quality acting job. 4. Illegal screen, which is followed by the defender holding. That's what the offensive player is complaining about, but his foul was first. Last edited by Nevadaref; Tue Dec 20, 2016 at 08:43pm. |

I think that is why it was called. The officials has a great look at this and better than we have. I do believe he acted a little, but the contact was illegal in my opinion.
Peace

#3...chucked in the back. But, it could have been passed on as there was no possession consequence. The only reason to call it would be to clean up the game if things had been too rough. #4...holding or not, the movement into the defender driving him away from the ball is enough for it to be an illegal screen.

This was my thought as well. But, I'd venture to say that I probably would have made the same call if I was the L.

#1 I would pass on the travel, it's a game interrupter there and in real time IMHO the collection does not come before "step 1" of 3 in the travel sequence.
2,3,4 all correct. #5 I don't think the lead can see the last contact of the ball by A1. It would be up to the C to come in and help out if he sees it. |

Lose the term game interrupter. It only leads not calling the game as it is designed. The defense forces the travel, they deserve the ball. As for "collection" (or gather, as it is more commonly called), that is not the point where the travel rules start. By definition, a player that is in control of the ball is either holding or dribbling the ball. The dribble ends (and holding begins) when the ball comes to rest in one or both hands which usually happens well before "collection". At that moment, unless you deem the player has lost control, the player is holding the ball and the travel rules begin. There is no magical third status between dribbling and holding the ball.

#6...I'd stop it on white's made basket. If they had stopped pressing towards a shot, I'd stop it then.
#7. Great call....defender kept moving into the airborne shooter.

On #6 -- what if the shot had been missed? Stop play and go to the arrow? wait for a rebound and stop it? Wait for a rebound and if white gets it and ir's an immediate put-back or drive let that play happen? I think FED has a pretty definitive case play on this, but I don't think NCAA does. |
