Free Throw situations (Video)

BTW, this is the same player for each of these free throws.

What do you notice?

Peace

Glad to see Chris is doing well in the B12.

Double violation, each time. White comes in a tad early (just before the release), and shooter violates.

Seeing this brings a tear to my eye. Why don't they call this violation??

BTW there isn't a violation on white. Especially for when he entered and at this level. Maybe a freshman game, but even at the varsity level I don't have a violation on white for entering early. I do have one on black shooter for. tsk/tsk.

I do not see any violations on white (Texas Tech). It has to be more obvious to me to call that a violation on the defense in this case.

Peace

The left foot of the shooter steps across the line after his release and while the ball is in the air on the way to the basket.

Curious that no one involved in the game seems to care.

I don't watch a lot of Big12 ball, but is this happening in multiple games?

No, all in the same game and by the same player. All the attempts happened in front of his bench. Ya' gotta think that if he had been shooting in front of the other team's bench, there would have been some pointing and yelling by those guys.

I know the plays in this video are from the same game. I'm just wondering if this is something he's been doing all season.

My guess is that since he didn't use that "step" to help get a rebound, it was just ignored. The outside player for white was in the arc before the ball hit the rim on at least the first FT (and yes, I know that the FT was made so any violation here would be ignored)

I will also say that it's hard for C to get because he needs to get to the rebounding action right away. T needs to have the FT shooter and the action (boxing out) surrounding him, and the players outside the lane. I wouldn't be surprised to see some mechancis changes / POE on this coming up.

This kid is a senior who gets major playing time, most definitely not the first time he would have done this.

Me, I'm coming to him the first time I see it and from there calling the violation.

I'm more curious how he has played at 3 D1 programs with no break in service.
